Coach Hartzell led the University of the Sciences Devils to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) tournament championship, as well as a first place in the CACC South Division regular season. The team played its way to the best record (27-6) in school history in Coach Hartzell’s fourth season as a collegiate Head Coach. The Devils went on to win their first round game of the NCAA Division II Tournament against perennial power Bentley University for the program’s first ever NCAA tournament victory. The University of the Sciences team was nationally ranked at #21 at one point during the season, which was the program's first ever national ranking. Finally, the Devils led the country in scoring defense giving up just 53.5 points per game.
