Claire Perry
Claire has dedicated her career to developing youth through sport. She is a former NCAA Division I basketball student-athlete and team captain from Cornell University who then transitioned into a coaching career. First, she was an assistant women’s basketball coach at Keene State College. She then coached abroad, serving a two-year fellowship with international NGO PeacePlayers International, coaching basketball and teaching life skills and HIV/AIDS awareness to South African township youth. For the past five years, Claire has worked for the non-profit Up2Us Sports which is dedicated to transforming the lives of our nation’s most vulnerable youth by hiring and training coaches who can inspire success on and off the court. As the Regional Director, Claire founded and currently leads the Mid-Atlantic region where Up2Us has hired over 125 coaches and trained over 2000 youth development professionals throughout the Philadelphia, Baltimore, and DC area. Claire still finds time to coach and is the head girl’s basketball coach at her high school alma mater, Mount Saint Joseph’s Academy. She is currently pursuing her masters degree in Sport Coaching Leadership at Drexel University and can often be found at work, practice, or school with her four-year old son, Leo, in tow.
