The Power of Data in Sports: Using Analytics to Inform Coaching Decisions
Kelsey Franks, a 2016 Temple University graduate and former member of the women's rowing program, now serves as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the Owls.
As an athlete at Temple, she coxed the Varsity 8+ and played a pivotal role in the team's success, including a historic third-place finish at the 2016 American Athletic Conference.
At age 21, Franks became head coach at Tampa Preparatory school, securing four Florida State Championships and overseeing operational changes as rowing director from 2018-2021. By age 26, Franks became head coach of Women's Rowing at La Salle University, leading them to unprecedented success and the program's best Atlantic-10 Conference team finish since 2003. Franks brings a background of marketing and data to her coaching and recruiting, and has created a renowned Coxswain Development Program at Temple.
