Regina M. Johnson has inspired and coached athletes since 1996 and has made a lasting impact on athletes in the greater Philadelphia area. She is a proud graduate of Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, where she played field hockey and track, earning All-Atlantic 10 honors in both her junior and senior years. Johnson began her coaching journey as the Freshman Field Hockey Coach at Cheltenham High School; from there she took a position as Assistant Track Coach at Abington Senior High School, her alma mater. She has also coached field hockey at Germantown Friends School, The Shipley School, and the Viper Club. Johnson coached track at Germantown High School and then took a position at Martin Luther King High School in 2013. She currently serves as the Unified Sports coach and Athletic Director at Martin Luther King High School, and also as the Field Hockey Sports Chair of the Philadelphia Public League. Johnson has had many accomplishments as a coach and athletic director. She has coached several State medalists, including two-time State Medalist Tyreek Mathis. Under her leadership, King became the first Philadelphia public school to win the PIAA Unified Track and Field Championship. When Johnson is not coaching, you can find her on the field, playing for a local women's field hockey team to stay active. Regina resides in Wyndmoor and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves watching her son and nephew play football, wrestle, and run track
